Fetal Heartbeat Doppler (Fetal Heart Rate Monitor)

Place a blob of gel either on end of probe or on tummy, place probe gently on tummy, move probe to find your baby’s heart beat (once detected, visual display will flash FHR (usually between 120-160bpm). Enjoy listening to your baby’s heartbeat, be assured that his/her heartbeat is normal.

It is perfectly safe to use this product as many times and as long as you like each time. However we do recommend that you limit each use to 10 minutes so as not to interrupt baby’s normal routine in the womb.

IMPORTANT: This product is not meant to substitute your regular gynae/ob visits. Please check with your gynae/ob IMMEDIATELY if the Doppler displays an abnormal FHR in RED or if you are unable to detect baby’s heartbeat.

Why this fetal doppler and not other cheaper models?

1)	This is a FDA and CE approved hospital grade fetal heartbeat monitor that is used by obstetricians and midwives in many countries including USA, UK, Canada and Europe countries as it meets routine examination requirements.

2)	Besides being reassured by hearing your baby's heartbeat, it monitors that your baby's heartbeat is normal. If baby's heartbeat is not normal, the heartbeat monitor will turn red, indicating that there's something wrong, the monitor can detect normal rates from 120-160 bpm in GREEN and displays an Abnormal FHR in RED.

Normal fetal heart rates and stage of pregnancy.

First Trimester

The heart is formed and begins beating around the 5th week of gestation. Your baby's first heart rate is about 100 beats per minute, which is relatively low compared with later weeks. After the 5th week, her heart rate begins to accelerate and reaches a high average rate of approximately 175 beats per minute by the 10th week of gestation. It is often during these weeks that you may have an initial exam to confirm pregnancy, which includes an examination of the fetal heart rate by Doppler, and you are able to hear the heart's rapid pace.

Second Trimester

After an initial rise in the early weeks of pregnancy, your baby's heart rate then declines after approximately the 10th to 12th weeks. This decline drops by about 25 to 40 beats per minute between the 10th and 20th weeks of gestation or until almost the end of the second trimester, which lasts until the 24th week.

Third Trimester

Between the 20th week of gestation until the time, when your baby is considered to be full-term, his heart rate declines again slightly and then stabilizes between 100 and 160 beats per minute.
